Mitcham

Part of the Greater London borough of Merton, England. The principal feature of Mitcham is its common and golf-course (area 1.8 sq km/0.7 sq mi). It is largely a residential suburb, with manufacturers of paints and varnishes, fireworks, confectionery and food products, and light engineering.

Mitcham, lying on the River Wandle, used to be a town in its own right. On its green, cricket has been played since its early days.
