Merulius

Genus of fungi in the family Corticiaceae, in the class Basidiomycetes. M. lacrymans is the destructive fungus which causes dry rot of timber. M. tremellosus is a bracket fungus; it has a woolly upper surface and an underside covered with pinkish-orange pores, and grows on rotting trees.
