Rossini's Petite messe solennelle is neither 'petite' - it's a whole evening's performance - and for much of the time nor is it particularly 'solennelle', with Rossini humour and familiarity with farce never far away.
They will be singing Brahms's rarely-performed Neue Liebeslieder Waltzes and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.
The first concert date involving both choirs will be on March 31 in Huddersfield when the Reigate singers will join the Huddersfield Singers for their Easter concert at St Paul's Hall, when they will be performing Rossini's Petite messe solennelle.
