In alternative medicine, an extension of reflexology, developed in the 1960s by British naturopath Robert St John. He originally named it ‘prenatal therapy’ because he discovered that areas on the foot, especially their inside edges (that correspond in reflexology to the spine) also relate to the individual's development in the womb; thus deep-seated trauma can be treated.
