Meyer, Ernst Hermann (1905-1988)

German musicologist and composer. He studied in Berlin and Heidelberg. He lived in London from 1933 to 1948, when he was appointed professor of music sociology at the Humbolt University, Berlin. His books include studies of 17th-century instrumental music and English chamber music from the Middle Ages to Purcell.
