Michael, Roger (Rogier) (c. 1550–c. 1619)

Flemish tenor and composer. He studied under his father, Simon Michael, a musician to the Emperor Ferdinand I. He became a tenor in the electoral chapel at Dresden in 1575 and Kapellmeister in 1587, being succeeded in the latter post by Schütz in 1619.
