Michael, Tobias (1592-1657)

German composer, son of Roger Michael. He studied as a boy chorister under his father in the Dresden court chapel and became music director at Sondershausen in 1619. In 1631 he succeeded Schein as cantor of St Thomas's Church at Leipzig.
