Michelucci, Giovanni

    0.04 sec.

Michelucci, Giovanni (1891-1990)

Italian architect. A leading exponent of rationalism in the 1930s, he produced numerous urban projects characterized by a restrained modernism, for example, the Sta Maria Novella Station in Florence 1934-37. He departed from his rationalist principles in his design for the church of San Giovanni (1961) by the Autostrada del Sole near Florence, a fluid, sculptural composition in poured concrete.
