Town in Greater Manchester, England, 8 km/5 mi from the city of Manchester; population (2001) 45,600. Although it is primarily a residential area, the town has some industries, including engineering and textiles. Middleton has a medieval church.

City in Dane County, southern Wisconsin, situated on Lake Mendota, 8 km/5 mi northwest of Madison; population (1990) 13,300. A residential suburb in a farming region, it produces condensed milk and has other light industries.
