Midvale

City in Salt Lake County, northern Utah; , population (1990) 11,900. It is situated on the Jordan River, a suburb of Salt Lake City some 16 km/10 mi south of the city centre.

Midvale is surrounded by mines where lead, copper, zinc, gold, and silver are extracted, and the city is a smelting centre. It also produces beet sugar, flour, and pre-packed poultry.
