Migenes, Julia (1945- )

US soprano. She studied in New York and appeared on Broadway before her New York City Opera debut, in 1965. She sang at the Vienna Volksoper 1973-78, as Blondchen, Susanna, Schmidt's Esmerelda, and Olympia, and at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York from 1979, as Jenny in Mahagonny and Lulu, a role she repeated in Vienna. She has appeared at the Geneva Opéra (1983), as Salome and sang Carmen in Francesco Rossi's 1984 film. Her debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London was in 1987, as Manon and she sang Tosca at Earl's Court, London in 1991.
