Mignet, François Auguste Marie (1796-1884)

French historian. His Histoire de la Révolution française (1824) has a vividness and accuracy which have made it a standard work.

He also published Notices et mémoires historiques (1843), Histoire de Marie Stuart (1851), Charles Quint (1854), Rivalité de François I et de Charles Quint (1875), and the romantic drama Antonia Perez et Philippe II (1845).
