Molinos, Miguel de (1640-1697)

Spanish mystic and Roman Catholic priest. He settled in Rome and wrote several devotional works in Italian, including the Guida spirituale/Spiritual Guide (1675), which aroused the hostility of the Jesuits. In 1687 he was sentenced to life imprisonment. His doctrine is known as quietism.
