Micon (lived 5th century BC)

Greek painter and sculptor. A contemporary of Phidias and Polygnotus, with whom he worked, he was renowned for his skill in drawing horses and for his battle scenes, for example between the mythological Amazons and the Athenians, and between the Athenians and the Persians at the Battle of Marathon 490 BC.
