Tryfan

Mountain in northwest Wales, with a striking pyramidal appearance and steep incline; height 917m/3,008 ft. It stands to the south of Lake Ogwen, with Snowdon to the southwest, separated from it by Glyder Fach, Glyder Fawr, and the Llanberis Pass.

The upper half of the east and southeast faces is a precipice which offers some of the finest (yet safest) rock climbing in Britain. All the climbs lead to the rocky summit ridge capped by its twin monoliths, Adam and Eve. The finest view of Tryfan is from the east (Capel Curig) side. The foot of the climbs can be reached quickly from either Pen-y-pas or Ogwen.
