Mill Valley

City in Marin County, northwestern California; population (1990) 13,000. This affluent suburb lies 16 km/10 mi northwest of San Francisco, at the head of Richardson Bay, an inlet of San Francisco Bay, and the southeast foot of Mount Tamalpais.

Mill Valley is set in wooded hills and valleys. It is home to a religious seminary, an artists' colony, a film festival, and some corporate offices.
