Miller, David Hunter

Miller, David Hunter (1875–1961)

US lawyer and diplomat. A prominent New York lawyer, he commenced his long association with the US State Department as a special assistant (1917–19). He was an adviser to the US delegation to the Paris Peace Conference (1919), and, with Cecil J B Hurst, he wrote the final draft of the Covenant of the League of Nations. He was an editor of treaties (1924–44) and a historical adviser to the State Department (1931–38). Miller was born in New York City.
