| Originally in the liberal tradition, Mills later adopted Weberian and even Marxist ideas. He aroused considerable popular interest in sociology with such works as White Collar 1951; The Power Elite 1956, depicting the USA as ruled by businessmen, military experts, and politicians; and Listen, Yankee 1960. |
