Milnes, Sherrill (Eustace) (1935– )

US baritone. One of the favourites of the Metropolitan Opera, New York, Milnes is admired as much for his dramatic abilities as for his striking voice, his celebrated roles including Don Giovanni and Iago.

Born in Downers Grove, Illinois, and US-trained, he made his Metropolitan Opera debut in Faust in 1965.
