Milwaukie

City in Clackamas County, northwestern Oregon; population (1990) 18,700. Milwaukie, a residential suburb of Portland, stands on the Willamette River, 6 km/4 mi south of the city centre.

Milwaukie is a trading and distribution centre for the fruit and other agricultural products of the Willamette Valley, and has extensive warehousing facilities. Manufactured goods from here include batteries and plywood.
