MiniDisc

Digital audio disk that resembles a computer floppy disk in a 5 cm/2 in square case, with up to an hour's playing time. The system was developed by Sony for release in 1993.

Their small size makes MiniDiscs particularly suitable for personal and car stereos, and the players are equipped with memory chips that store up to three seconds of music in order to compensate for any skips and jumps in playback.
