Minkowski, Marc (1962– )

French conductor. He studied at the Hague Conservatory and formed Les Musiciens du Louvre in 1984. The ensemble has given many performances of Baroque opera throughout Europe. He has conducted Handel's Riccardo Primo for the English Bach Festival; Gluck's Iphigénie en Tauride at Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London; Purcell's Dido and Handel's Teseo in Paris; Monteverdi's Orfeo in Valencia; and Lully's Phaeton at the Lyon Opéra. Further French repertory includes Alcyone by Marais, Mouret's Les Amours de Ragonde, and Titon et l'Aurore by Mondonville, all of which he has recorded.
