Minster in Sheppey

Town and resort on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, England; population (2001) 8,400. The town has one of England's oldest existing places of worship, the Church of St Mary and St Sexburga. St Mary and St Sexburga are effectively two churches, the latter being originally associated with a nunnery founded about AD 664.
