Minter, Drew (1955– )

US countertenor. He studied with Rita Streich and Erik Werba and made his stage debut in Handel's Orlando at St Louis in 1983. Other Handel roles have been Arsace in Partenope (Omaha, 1988); Ptolomeo in Giulio Cesare, directed by Peter Sellars; and Ottone (Göttingen, 1992). In 1989 he sang in Judith Weir's A Night at the Chinese Opera at Santa Fe, and as Endimione in La Calisto. His recordings include Ottone in Handel's Agrippina and the title role in Floridante.
