Mirabeau, André Boniface Louis Riqueti (1754–1792)

French soldier and politician. In 1789 he became a deputy to the States General (French parliament), where as a reactionary he bitterly opposed his brother, Honoré Mirabeau.

He previously served in the French army in the expedition which assisted the American Revolution in 1781.His corpulence and drunken habits won him the name of ‘Mirabeau Tonneau’ (the Barrel). He emigrated to Germany in 1790.
