Miralles, Enric (1955–2000)

Spanish architect. He is known for his original blend of traditional Catalan architecture with European and US elements and concepts. His works include La Llauna School in Badalona (1985), the Igualada Cemetery (1988), the new Scottish Parliament (1998), the new IUAV University of Architecture in Venice (1999), and La Clota House in Barcelona (2000).

He studied at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB). After graduating in 1978, he became a professor at the school and chair of architecture in 1996. He also taught at several universities in the USA, South America, and Europe.
