Mixtec

Ancient civilization of pre-colonial Mexico. The Mixtecs succeeded the Zapotecs in the valley of Oaxaca. They founded new towns, including Tilatongo and Teozacualco, and partially rebuilt some Zapotec cities. The Mixtecs produced historical records which contain biographies of rulers and noblemen and trace Mixtec history back to AD 692. They were skilled in the use of metals, including gold and silver.
