Mljet

Island in the Adriatic Sea, off the coast of Dalmatia, northwest of Dubrovnik; approximate area 222 sq km/86 sq mi; population (2001) 1,100. The island belongs to Croatia, and is 37 km/23 mi long and 6 km/4 mi wide of volcanic formation.
