Mobile Bay, Battle of
| Naval battle on 5 August 1864 in the American Civil War. It was a victory by the Union forces under David Farragut over the Confederates under Franklin Buchanan. Mobile Bay is a deep inlet in the coast of southwestern Alabama. |
