According to the company, its Gateway Mobile Switching Centre (GMSC) solution supports such application protocols as Customised Applications for Mobile Network Enhanced Logic (CAMEL), enabling wireless network operators to differentiate their service with new SIP-based applications while leveraging their existing CAMEL infrastructure for services such as prepaid calling plans.
Like the existing Nokia base stations, the Nokia GSM 900/1800 dual band base station can be deployed under the same Nokia base station controller (BSC) and mobile switching centre (MSC), and the entire system can be managed under the same Nokia NMS/2000 Network Management System.
Under scrutiny will be the Mc Interface located between the Mobile Switching Centre Server (MSC-S) and the Media Gateway (MGW).
