FatesIn Greek mythology, three female figures who determined the destiny of human lives; later, the duration of human life. They were envisaged as spinners: Clotho spun the thread of life, Lachesis apportioned the thread, and Atropos cut it off. They are analogous to the Roman Parcae or Fata and Norse Norns.
