Moll, Kurt (1938- )

German bass. He made his debut at Aachen in 1961. Since 1968 he has appeared at Bayreuth, singing Marke and Pogner, and since 1973 at Salzburg. He joined the Hamburg Opera in 1970 and in 1972 sang Osmin at La Scala, Milan and Gurnemanz at the Paris Opéra. He made his debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London in 1977, as Kaspar and at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York in 1978, as the Landgrave. He returned to the Metropolitan in 1990 and 1992, as the Commendatore and Gurnemanz. He has also been heard in sacred music by Bach and Beethoven.
