Mompou, Federico (1893-1987)

Spanish pianist and composer. He studied at the Barcelona Conservatory and later in Paris, where Isidore Philipp (1863-1958) was his piano master and Marcel Samuel-Rousseau (1882-1955) taught him composition. He lived at Barcelona again 1914-21, then settled in Paris, returning to Barcelona 1941.
