Friends

US television show (1994–2004), which followed the fortunes of six twenty-something friends. The fast-paced sitcom, distinguished by a sharp and witty script and adept performances from all the leads, documented the interaction of these friends, exploring their lives and relationships against the backdrop of New York City. An immensely popular show with a dedicated viewing audience, it starred Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox Arquette, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, all of whom went on to film careers. Matt LeBlanc went on to star in the new sitcom Joey (2004– ).
