French town, capital of the département of Landes, on the River Midouze; population (1990) 32,000. It has nursery gardens, and oil, wood, and resin industries.

Byline: Graham Woods SARACENS recorded a 50-point victory over Mont-de-Marsan at home in their first Challenge Cup outing and have a reasonably strong team out in tonight's return, writes Graham Woods.
Second-placed Stade Francais won 13-6 at bottom club Mont-de-Marsan although they did not put in a convincing display at the Guy-Boniface stadium, on the run up to their European Cup pool 4 match at Scarlets on Sunday.
Stade for their part are away at bottom side Mont-de-Marsan though the hosts are just two points away from safety after a creditable 16-13 victory over Montauban last Saturday.
