Montarsolo, Paolo (1925– )

Italian bass. From 1954 he sang at La Scala, Milan in operas by Rossini, Donizetti, and Mozart. He appeared at Glyndebourne in 1957, as Mustafa and again 1967–71, as Leporello, Osmin, Alfonso, and Rossini's Selim, and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London from 1990, as Donizetti's Don Pasquale and Dulcaman. He has also sung at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York and in Paris and Moscow.
