Moore, Robert Lee

Moore, Robert Lee (1882-1974)

US mathematician. A noted professor, he taught longest at the University of Texas (1923-68) and was credited for using axiomatics as a tool in set-theoretic topology, which he called point-set topology. Born in Dallas, Texas, he was also associate editor of the American Mathematical Society's Transactions (1914-27).
