Moore's law

Rule that computer microprocessor speed doubles every 18 months. The law is named after its proponent US scientist Gordon Moore, ex-Fairchild Semiconductor employee and co-founder of Intel. In 2000, Moore predicted his law would only hold true until 2010 at the latest.
