Moore, Roger George

Moore, Roger George (1927– )

English actor. He starred in the television series The Saint (1962–70), and assumed the film role of the spy James Bond in 1973 in Live and Let Die. He made seven Bond films, the last of which was A View to a Kill (1985).

His other Bond films include The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), and Octopussy (1983). Other films include Diane (1955), Gold (1974), The Wild Geese (1978), and Spice World (1997). He succeeded Audrey Hepburn as goodwill ambassador for UNICEF in 1993.

He made several other films and television appearances, but became well known in the USA for his role opposite Burt Reynolds in The Cannonball Run (1981).
