Morley, Thomas (c. 1557–c. 1602)English composer. He wrote consort music, madrigals, and airs including the lute song ‘It was a lover and his lass’ for Shakespeare's play As You Like It (1599). He edited a collection of Italian madrigals The Triumphs of Oriana (1601), and published an influential keyboard tutor A Plaine and Easie Introduction to Practicall Musicke (1597).
