Morny, Charles Auguste Louis Joseph

Morny, Charles Auguste Louis Joseph (1811–1865)

French politician. He was the illegitimate son of Hortense Bonaparte and the comte de Flahaut, and was a staunch supporter of Napoleon III, his half-brother. He cooperated in the coup d'etat of 1851 and became minister of the interior. He was president of the corps législatif 1854–65 and ambassador to Russia 1856–57.
