0.12 sec. |
Morricone, Ennio (1928– )Italian composer of film music. His atmospheric scores for ‘spaghetti westerns’, notably the Sergio Leone movies Per un pugno di dollari/A Fistful of Dollars (1964) and Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo/The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966), were widely imitated. His highly ritualized, incantatory style pioneered the use of amplified instruments and solo voices, using studio special effects. He studied at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, Italy, where he specialized in trumpet. He wrote nearly 400 film scores during his career. How to thank TFD for its existence?
