Moser, Edda (1938– )

German soprano. She made her debut in Berlin in 1962, as Butterfly and sang under Henze in London (1967) and Karajan in the Ring at the Salzburg Easter Festival (1968). She appeared at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York in 1970, as the Queen of Night and in Salzburg in 1971, as Aspasia in Mozart's Mitridate. Other roles include Constanze, Leonore, and Lucia. She sang Donna Anna in the Lorin Maazel–Joseph Losey film version of Don Giovanni. In January 1971 she took part in the first performance of Henze's The Raft of the Medusa, at Vienna.
