Moser, Hans Joachim (1889–1967)

German singer, musicologist, and composer. He studied with his father, Andreas Moser (1859–1925), who was a violinist and writer on music, author of a biography of Joachim. He was later educated at Berlin, Marburg, and Leipzig, and became professor of musicology at Halle, Heidelberg, and later Berlin. His literary works include a history of German music, studies of medieval string music, Luther's songs, German song, and biographies of Hofhaimer, Schütz, and Bach.
