Moser, Thomas (1945– )

US tenor. He studied at the Curtis Institute and in California with Lotte Lehmann. He sang at Graz from 1975; at Munich in 1976, as Belmonte; at the Vienna Staatsoper from 1977, as Mozart's Ottavio, Tamino, Idomeneo, Titus, Strauss's Flamand, Gluck's Achilles, and Florestan in Schubert's Fierrabras (1988); at the New York City Opera from 1979; at La Scala, Milan in 1990; and at Salzburg from 1983, in La finta semplice, the first performance of Berio's Un re in ascolto (1984), and as Strauss's Emperor (1992). His concert work has included performances of music by Bach, Beethoven, and Britten (War Requiem).
