Moses, ‘Grandma’ (1860–1961)US painter. Born in Washington County, New York, she began full-time painting about 1927, after many years as a farmer's wife. She was self-taught, and painted naive and colourful scenes from rural American life. Her first solo exhibition What a Farmwife Painted was held in New York in 1940.
