Moss, Carrie-Anne (1967- )

Canadian actor. She is particularly known for giving a steely beauty, cool self-assurance, and tinge of vulnerability to her role as Trinity in the hit science-fiction films The Matrix (1999) and its sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions (both 2003). Other films include the thriller Suspect Zero (2004) and the satirical drama Chumscrubber (2005).

The success of The Matrix propelled her film career, after previous appearances in a number of obscure films. She appeared in the action comedy The Crew, the science-fiction thriller Red Planet, and the romantic drama Chocolat (all 2000), and was acclaimed for her performance in the innovative thriller Memento (2001).

She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, and left Canada at the age of 20 to pursue a modelling career. While working in Spain she landed a role in the television series Dark Justice (1991-92). She moved to Los Angeles, California, and appeared in the series Models Inc. and F/X: The Series. She also had a role in the television action series Matrix (1993). Her film debut was in the martial arts thriller Sabotage (1996). She also appeared in several commercials and in the play Outward Bound at the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles.
