Motley, Arthur H(arrison) (1900–1984)

US publisher and business executive. He joined Crowell-Collier publishers in 1928, and as publisher of American Magazine (1941–46), he tripled circulation while increasing advertising revenue, a formula he repeated in resuscitating Parade Magazine (president, 1946–70). He was president of the US Chamber of Commerce (1960–61). Motley was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
