Mr Deeds Goes to Town

Black and white film comedy made in the USA in 1936, directed by Frank Capra. A man from a small town (Gary Cooper) inherits a fortune, goes to New York, and battles the city's con men and cynics with his innate decency and innocence.

The romantic interest is provided by Jean Arthur's hard-bitten newspaper reporter assigned to cover the story. The film won Capra his second Academy Award.
