Logan, Mount

Mountain in southwest Yukon Territory, Canada. With an altitude of 5,950 m/19,520 ft, it is the highest peak in Canada and the second-highest peak in North America (the highest being Mount McKinley in Alaska). Part of the St Elias Mountains, Mount Logan is in the Kluane National Park, designated a World Heritage Site in 1979. Research on high-altitude physiology, meteors, and glaciers has been conducted here.

The first known ascents were made by a joint US-Canadian expedition in 1925. The mountain was named after Canadian geologist William E Logan (1798–1875).
